Magnetic Field Device (MFD)

Last Updated: February 3rd, 2002

The MFD magnetic field was calibrated on January 29th, 2002 at the University of North Florida under the supervision of Professor Tom Pekarek.  The nominal field strength in the center of the experiment area was 300 Gauss.  The field strength was reasonably consistent from the bottom of the lower petri dish to the top of the upper petri dish in the experiment area.
The magnetic field was calibrated at UNF on January 29th, 2002 using an Applied Magnetics Laboratory Gauss meter

Calibrating the field at the top of the experiment area
Each area of the experiment field was calibrated
The shape of the magnetic field was observed using a Nakamura Magnetic Field Observation Box
